It’s almost time for spring snow goose hunting in Eastern South Dakota and the 2010 spring snow goose migration is going to start soon. Seems hunting is best right at the snow line and that’s where the geese are congregated.
They may be stalled south of the Dakotas for a bit tho as the snow cover is still a bit heavy. It’s pretty much a normal year for the snow goose tho. A federal snow goose stamp is not required and in SD you can shoot 20 snow geese per day with no possesion limit. For the cost of a license you can pretty much eat goose year around because there are sure a ton of them around waiting to be shot.
Lots of people have been planning this years snow goose hunts since they left last year. The geese are plentiful and it’s great to hear about something that isn’t endangered for a change. Heh, now if they’d make the limit on deer about 10.
