If you are following the Season 9 American Idol Fox reality show, you must have by now heard about the 62 year old man who joined the huge crowd of hopefuls in Atlanta, GA who were all decades younger than he.
He introduced himself as “General� Larry Platt and came to deliver his original rap song called “Pants on the Ground.� Out of sheer curiosity and perhaps out of reverence for his advanced age, the judges were willing to listen to his raspy voice and witness his rather agile dance movements.
“General� Larry Platt and his song “Pant on the Ground� were not invited to Hollywood but they became instant hits, nevertheless. The Internet is now flooded with articles and videos about his appearance. Remixes have been prepared as were spoofs and so on.
