Just recently I took my 12-year-old to the dentist and found out that he needed some orthodontic care. His teeth are grounded in his mouth he needs people, as well as braces. I have now seen the orthodontist and he is recommended that I pick up and purchase a portable oral irrigator so that my child can continue good dental hygiene, and clean his teeth thoroughly. My first question that popped in my head was- why would he need this? After all a toothbrush works quite effectively for anything else dental related. However, the orthodontist explained to me that when a child has braces installed in their mouth they need one. This is because food particles can become trapped behind the braces and behind the wires and mechanisms that are implanted on the teeth. What this type of mechanism performs is that it shoots water on a high-speed towards achieving crevices that cannot be penetrated solely by a toothbrush. It pushes food particles and things that get stuck behind the braces out and washes it away. I was amazed after purchasing one and using it myself how clean it got my teeth! I would recommend it to anyone and especially those who do have braces.
