Your child will need to be able to wear a helmet which means that their neck must be able to support their head with the added weight of a helmet. Some states have laws that the child must be 1 or older before they can ride in a child bike seat. Your main concern is safety so make sure your child is old enough to hold their head up and wear a helmet if in doubt don’t use a bicycle child seat yet it’s just not worth the risk.
