Since I was a cable television customer for more than 10 years, I feel that I am qualified to rate the service I received during that time. It was terrible.
I never received the "crystal clear" picture quality that the cable TV company boasted about in their commercials. Complaining to them never did me any good because they always told me there was no problem with my service. Since I lived in an area where I was unable to get good television reception with a roof-top antenna, I was pretty much stuck with watching cable TV.
I had wanted to try satellite television but I did not think it would work for me because of all the trees in my yard. I had planned to move in a few years anyway, so I just decided I would just wait it out and try satellite TV after I had moved.
One of the very first things I did after I moved was to sign up for DISH Network satellite TV. I was very anxious to try it and see how it compared to cable.
When I got my new DISH system installed, I was absolutely thrilled with the picture quality and have remained a satisfied customer ever since that day.
There are numerous promotions available for satellite service with new ones being introduced all the time. Just a few minutes on the Internet will reveal more DISH Network deals than you can imagine.
So why is satellite TV better than cable TV? Here are my reasons:
Satellite does not stop working when the weather or an accident takes the cable TV lines down. By the way, the weather does not affect satellite TV reception nearly as seriously as the cable TV companies want you to believe. In fact, much of the programming provided to their customers by cable television companies is received via satellite at the cable TV facility! How bad can it be?
My DISH Network bill has gone up very few times in the 9 years I have had the service. In comparison, my cable TV bill used to go up quite often — sometimes twice a year!
DISH Network currently offers the most HD channels of any national broadcaster and is always adding new channels. This may change in the future, but right now DISH Network is the HD champion.
