Posted by the author on August 28th, 2007

Going to Car Auction ?

Posted by the author on August 21st, 2007

Nevertheless, I was pretty bitter about not being able to go to any car auctions. It was nice of my parents to lend me money, but I knew that if I had been able to make my own purchase I would have been able to get a car without the help. I probably could have afforded something much better than the old beater I got. Still, it was nice to have any wheels all at that age, and I soon forgot about it. Nonetheless, as soon as I was old enough to do it on my own, I went to a car auction. It was a pretty wild scene – not at all what I expected. There was a huge crowd of people from all walks of life. Some of them were clearly automotive professionals, looking for old cars to either use for spare parts or to fix up.

Used car searches are a great way to find vehicles in your price range

Posted by the author on August 11th, 2007

When I started my career as a social worker thirty years ago I never thought I would be using a computer on a daily basis to help my clients. In fact I never really had any formal computer training. When I was in high school we thought it was great when could use electric type writers rather than the manual ones. When had the type erasers and then when I was a senior in high school we had correction fluid. Boy have things changed. When I was in college we were trained in the computer punch cards to enter data into the computer. It was tedious work that I did not understand. I did not pay too close attention to the computers because I was going into social services so I did not think I would ever use one. Good thing I am not a fortune teller, I would starve to death.

I didn’t get my drivers license until I was 27 years old

Posted by the author on August 11th, 2007

There are new regulations in some states that require people to have a certain amount of time with a permit and hours behind the wheel before you can even attempt to take the driver’s license test. Though it may seem unfair, I think it is one of the best things that has happened for teen drivers. I don’t know what age I will allow my daughter to try for her driver’s license, but I am glad these requirements are now in place in our state. I lost a lot of high school friends to car accidents, and I can’t imagine that this is something that anyone wants to go through.

Finding caravans for sale

Posted by the author on August 11th, 2007

I have worked in the social service industry for several years. Through the years I have worked in large and small agencies and I have worked in the private as well as the public sector. Each agency has advantages and disadvantages. In larger agencies they tend to have the social workers specialize in one certain area whether that is adult services or child services. If the agency serves a large population then you specialize within those categories as well such as mental health, protection, developmental disabilities or physical disabilities. Regardless of what area you specialize in it is helpful to know how to access all services.
