Celebrating Easter Sunday as Children
Posted by the author on March 9th, 2010Celebrating Easter Sunday as Children was always an important tradition as I was growing my in our family. In many families, unless religious prohibits, Easter Sunday is one of those holidays that come and go without much celebration in some households. Some households might have a Easter egg hunt and fill their gift basket with an chocolate Easter bunnies along with treats, but that was about it.
However, my parents turned Easter bunnies into a religion. Back when we used to be children, our parents actually would always dress as Easter bunnies. We were smart kids – we all knew it was them in costumes, but we all loved how they were playing make believe it was the real thing. We all even loved that they would give us chocolate Easter bunnies every time they were in costumes!
My parents will really set up the entire event – the Easter eggs hunt, the arrangements, the meal – dressed-up as Easter bunnies. To a lot of people, this could seem a little bit strange, yet to us kids, it was about the most delightful celebration you could imagine. Seeing your mom and dad transform into large, fluffy, gift giving baskets, hug giving bunny rabbits is one thing in which any children would enjoy!
