Halloween Fairy Costumes

I’ve have always been fascinated by Fairies. I think it started when I was little and loved reading Fairy Tales. My mom must have bought every single book of fairy tales she could find because I still have them all and read them to my kids until they are big enough to read them on their own. One thing about the Fairy Tales is that they seem to have a wide variety of fairies from Fairy Princesses, to Flying Fairies to Gnome Creatures that are Fairies too. It seems that little girls love to dream about being a Fairy Princess. Heck, even Fiona from Shrek is considered a Fairy Princess.
Lately I’ve been reading up on some of the history of fairies and have been surprised to find that fairies are found in Celtic stories, mythology, greek stories and even in old German and French stories. They vary from cute little flying fairies to underground living gnomes to beautifully painted fairies that a lot of old and new artist like to draw and paint. It seems in many drawings and paintings the fairies are life sized but in the movies they seem to favor tiny fairies.
Of course no Halloween could be complete without Halloween Fairy Costumes. It seems like every year we have 4 or 5 different fairies that come to trick or treat. Most really are in the Fairy Princess category, but who cares they are all really cute.
