Do you really want to learn how to sing? You should know that you’re not the only person who’s eager to learn how to sing properly, and lucking there are ways to get this done. It’s true that not all are born singers, but every singing voice can be enhanced. How? By practicing proper breathing and vocal exercises.
There’s a lot of ways an aspiring singer can do to improve his/her singing voice. One great way is to attend singing lessons, where he/she can learn proper vocal exercises that help opening the throat. Singing with an open throat will let you sing with less stress and help you achieve a more powerful singing voice.
The ear needs to be trained to recognize the right notes and key. Use a piano to help with this. If you are what is known as “tone deaf” you may have some trouble recognizing whether or not you are staying on key. It is a good idea to use a recorder to record your singing and play it back so you can hear where you are going wrong. If you have a trained ear, you’ll be able to quickly identify mistakes and take steps to correct them.
To get the most out of your singing voice, you must do proper warm ups to cool down your vocal chords. Remember, learning how to sing can’t be done overnight, it takes a lot of practice for you to get better and see wonderful results. You can strain your voice if you failed to do warm ups, and can hurt your throat really bad, if the exercises aren’t done correctly. This is why you also need to be careful and always monitor the way you are singing.
People should breathe from the stomach. When inhaling, push the stomach down and out. Do not allow the shoulders to move upward. When exhaling, pull the stomach inward and upward, without letting the shoulders move down. Training your body to move this way will be difficult at first, but as you continue to practice - before bed is the best time- it will become second nature. To assist with making sure you’re using the correct technique, place your hand on your stomach as you breathe. The most important thing to remember is not to force breath out. This kind of breathing is also used in meditation so it can assist with relaxation and stress management.
In any other aspects of life, confidence is important. You must know very well the song you are singing to be more confident. And with confidence, you will produce a sound based on your natural singing voice. Again, to learn how to sing, vocal and breathing techniques are important.
